26 Jun Year 1 – Gymnastics
This half term we have been exploring Gymnastics in our PE lessons. We have focussed on different ways to travel, balance and move. This week, we explored how to complete a log roll. We ensured we started our roll by using the ‘dish’ shape, we kept our arms and legs straight and used our core strength to roll over. We worked together to ensure we completed the roll using this correct form. After that, we explored a range of balances. We learned how to complete a ‘shoulder stand’ by holding our hips, lifting and keeping our legs straight and using our core to push our bodies up. We cannot wait to find out what movements we will be learning next!
