19 Jun Year 6 – Junior Citizens
The Year 6 children had the pleasure of attending the Junior Citizen event at The British Territorial Army in Romford. During this time each child experienced safety scenarios where they were taught a variety of skills and ways to safely deal with a situation which could arise during daily life.
The aim of each safety scenario allowed the children the opportunity of recognising and dealing with danger in a realistic way in which they would remember, should they need to cope with a similar situation in real life.
The children were taught:
· how to apply for an oyster, which allows them to travel on the bus for free
· how to stay safe on public transport
· how and where fires start, the possible results and what to do in specific situations
· to identify the risks of vaping and alcohol
