22 May Year 6 – Dangers of Vaping
This week, our Year 6 pupils took part in a powerful and insightful workshop about vaping and the dangers of harmful substances. Their learning involved discussions around why vapes were created, what they contain, what an addiction is and how peer pressure can sometimes cloud our ability to make informed and sensible decisions.
Rather than relying on slides alone, the session used real-life actors to bring important messages to life in a memorable and meaningful way. Through dramatic storytelling and metaphorical scenes, the actors demonstrated how one poor choice can slowly affect health, relationships, confidence and future opportunities. The workshop explored the hidden dangers of vaping, helping pupils understand that trying harmful substances can have serious consequences, even when they seem harmless at first. By acting out real-life scenarios, the performers showed how addiction and unhealthy habits can grow over time, leading to life-long physical and emotional damage. Most importantly, the experience encouraged thoughtful conversations and empowered our pupils to make informed, positive decisions. It was an engaging, age-appropriate session that left a lasting impression on everyone involved.
