03 Jul Year 5 – Science
This week, Year 5 have been conducting investigations to explore water resistance and simple mechanisms that use forces. For our first investigation, we experimented creating different shapes out of playdoh and dropping them in water to see how quickly they would sink. We discovered that the more streamlined a shape, the faster it would sink. We then explored how levers work and how the positioning of the fulcrum (pivot) will effect the effort (force) needed to move the lever.
