17 Apr Nursery – Our Ducklings

At the end of last term, we were looking at our Big Question – ‘How do Animals Grow and Change?’ We have looked at how baby animals change into adults and the different names that the animals are called, e.g. puppy and dog; kitten and cat. We were also extremely lucky to have been looking after some eggs from a farm in Kent. This gave us the opportunity to observe how ducklings grow first-hand from the moment the eggs crack. The eggs came to us in an incubator and then after a few days they cracked. We then had to look after the ducklings, moving them into a cage with food and water. It has been fun looking after them and we will be sad to see them return to the farm. During the Easter holidays we received a photo from the farm of them back with their friends.
