School Inclusion Lead / SENDCo

Mrs Basri
At Parsloes, we are dedicated to ensuring that all children, regardless of their specific needs, flourish and achieve their full potential; emotionally, socially, physically and academically.
We have a clear approach to meeting the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and understand the importance of offering a wide range of learning opportunities that go beyond academic skills. Through a culture of challenge, nurture and support, we encourage our children to become effective communicators, active contributors, confident and ambitious individuals who are well prepared for the next stages of their education.
SEND Code of Practice
The Department for Education publishes a code of practice on SEND, which is guidance for schools and councils on how to help children and young people with SEND.

Inclusion Base
To support our pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), we have a Local Authority Specialist Base and three Support Bases within our school.
Support Base
The Meadow, The Orchard and The Buttercup Room are support bases set up within our school to support children with additional needs. The children within these provisions spend the majority of their day in mainstream classrooms and access the provision accordingly for core subjects, therapies and interventions throughout the day.
Our provisions are nurturing environments which are designed to allow children to develop both academically and socially. They are led by Specialist Learning Support Assistants and are overseen by the SENDCo.
Specialist Base
Parsloes ARP (Additionally Resourced SEND Provision) is a specialist provision supporting children with complex needs, including autism. This Specialist Base has three teaching spaces, a sensory room and a purpose built outdoor learning area. Each child accesses a bespoke curriculum tailored to their individual needs and ability using their EHCP targets.
Children need to have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) to attend this setting and as a Local Authority maintained provision, places at Parsloes ARP are allocated by the local authority Education Health Care (EHC) Team.
Please follow the link below for more information on our Specialist Base.
