23 Jan Year 6 – Our Circulatory System
In our science topic, the children have been learning about the circulatory system. They developed a better understanding of how muscles need energy from food to make them work. How our bodies are designed for an active life so we need to take plenty of exercise and how It helps to strengthen muscles, heart muscle, ligaments which attach bones together at joints, improve circulation of the blood, and improve breathing efficiency.
Building on from the pulse activity we completed last week, the children conducted a fair test to see how increased activity due to muscle cells using more energy, leads to an increased pulse rate. They then completed a write up to show the results and conclusion of their test.
