07 Nov Year 6 – How does light travel and reflect?
We will be learning how light travels and reflects through research and investigation this term. This week, we recapped on different sources of light and addressed the common misconception that ‘the moon’ is a source of light.
In groups, the children demonstrated how light travels in a straight-line using touchers, cardboard and clay. This experiment showed that light leaves a light source in the form of light rays and that it travels in straight lines. We also learnt that objects are seen because they give out or reflect light into the eye when light travels from light sources to our eyes or from light sources to objects and then to our eyes.
