03 Oct Year 6 – Computing
This week, Year 5 have been learning about data packets, building on from our understanding of IP addresses. The children developed an understanding that all computers connected to the internet can share information and are sometimes referred to as a network of networks. We looked at ordering data packets and how packets are transferred through cables and routers. The data packets are all given a number electronically before they are sent, which the computer uses to put the information back together in the right order, this enables the web browser to display the correct web page and makes sure the information gets to the right computer.
