Year 4 – History
To kickstart our History learning on Ancient Greece, we hosted our very own Parsloes Olympics! We first had our ‘running of the torch’ parade which is traditionally done by the athletes to signal the start of the games. We then took part in different games such as: javelin, discus, hurdles and relay races. After our games we were all awarded with medals for taking part – we all had such a fun time! We also had our first History lesson of the year where we examined different artefacts from the Ancient Greek period. Whilst observing these special objects we thought about: what type of object they could be, what were they used for, how they were used, what they were made of and what we could learn about Ancient Greece from these sources.
