06 Mar World Book Day
World Book Day 2026
Our school was bursting with excitement, imagination and a shared love of reading as we celebrated World Book Day together. It was a truly special occasion that brought our school community together and reminded us all just how powerful stories can be.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all of our parents and carers for the wonderful support you gave your children in preparation for the day: your encouragement at home, helping children choose books to share and talk about and celebrating reading together made a real difference! Your support plays such an important role in helping our pupils develop a lifelong love of reading.
One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity for children to read with pupils from different classes and year groups. They absolutely loved sharing stories with one another, recommending their favourite books and listening to new ones. It was fantastic to see older and younger pupils connecting through books and enjoying time together as readers.
Our sharing assemblies were another brilliant moment in the day; children had the chance to hear about a wide range of books and stories from across the school. Many pupils discovered books that may not have previously been on their watchlist but certainly are now! The excitement of hearing about new characters, adventures and authors sparked lots of curiosity and enthusiasm.
A special thank-you to the parents who were able to come into school to read with their child – your presence helped make the day even more memorable. There was a real buzz around the school as families shared stories together and celebrated reading. As children passed each other in the corridors, you could hear them excitedly exchanging book recommendations and sharing their reviews, eager to tell their friends about the stories they had discovered.
Events like these remind us how powerful reading can be in bringing people together and inspiring young minds.
Keep an eye out for our next exciting reading event — our Book Fair! This will take place from Wednesday 25th March 2026 through to Friday 27th March 2026 and we can’t wait to see our pupils exploring even more fantastic books.
Thank you once again for helping make World Book Day such a joyful celebration of reading across our school community.
Miss Peters,
