13 Feb Careers Week in Year 6
Last week, our school was buzzing with excitement as we celebrated a highly successful Careers Week. Pupils were given the wonderful opportunity to meet and engage with professionals from a wide range of careers, both in person and virtually. We were delighted to welcome policemen, IT technicians, pilots and fundraising managers, each of whom shared fascinating insights into their roles and the unique pathways that led them to their professions. From stories of determination and training to moments of challenge and achievement, our visitors offered real-life perspectives that brought the world of work to life.
The children were fully engaged throughout every session: asking thoughtful and meaningful questions, eager to understand what qualifications, skills and personal qualities are needed to succeed in different fields. It was inspiring to see their curiosity grow as they discovered careers they may never have previously considered!
Careers Week not only broadened our pupils’ horizons but also encouraged them to think ambitiously about their own futures. They left each session with open minds, new aspirations and a deeper understanding of the many exciting and rewarding pathways available to them.
A huge thank you to all the volunteers who generously gave their time to support our school. Your enthusiasm and honesty have helped to inspire the next generation and we are truly grateful for the opportunities you made possible.
