07 Jun Year 5 – Science
Year 5 dissected and labelled the parts of a flower, using key vocabulary such as: sepal, stamen, stigma, petal, stalk and pollen. We discussed the role that each part plays in the development and reproduction of plants, suggested ways how the pollen reaches other plants and if we think all plants reproduce in this way. The conversations were healthy and involved recalling knowledge and understanding from Year 3.
