19 Apr Year 5 – Science
Year 5 started the Summer Term investigating how gravity works. They were challenged to jump up for as long as they can without holding onto anything and time if they could stay up
in the air for more than 2 seconds, then 5 seconds, then 10 seconds before discussing reasons why they could not. Next, they were challenged to throw a ball in the air for longer than 10 seconds before analysing what happens to the ball through discussion and sharing the longest time they were able to keep a ball in the air. The conclusion was being pulled down by gravity (the force that acts between objects). All children enjoyed the practical and hands-on learning experiences that the lesson provided and could discuss their findings confidently.
