25 Apr Year 5 – Maths
Year 5 got creative with their learning in order to fully grasp a new (and challenging) concept. When learning about angles, turns and degrees, all pupils ventured outside to act out positional changes linked to instructions given. In pairs, they set commands and their partner had to follow. Examples included: turn 90 degrees clockwise; make a half turn anti-clockwise; turn your body 270 degrees counter-clockwise. Within the lesson, they also asked challenging questions such as: “If I start facing the school and turn 45 degrees clockwise, what am I now facing?” The lesson was a great success and all pupils worked well to support and challenge each other.
