04 Oct Year 5 – Eastbury Manor House
Year 5 enjoyed a fantastic trip to Eastbury Manor, where we were able to explore a Tudor house and learn about the changes to Barking and Dagenham as a consequence of the reformation. We had the opportunity to try on traditional clothing and learn a Tudor dance. The expert hosts were great at explaining how Henry VIII dissolved Barking Abbey and how Eastbury Manor used to work as a working farm and was home to wealthy families during Tudor times. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves!
