10 Nov Year 5 – Eastbury Manor House
As part of our local history study, Year 5 visited the home of the Sisley family, Eastbury Manor House. We have been learning about the Reformation in Tudor times in Barking and Dagenham and how it changed our local community.
At Eastbury Manor House, we learned about the closing of Barking Abbey before exploring the house. We were able to look at artefacts and discovered how the family lived. We dressed up as Anne and Clement Sisley in traditional clothes and ended the day with a Tudor dance in the Great Hall.
