This week in Year 5, we have been investigating reversible and irreversible materials. We mixed sand and gravel together in containers to see to how we can separate the mixed components using a sieve. We also created a mixture of sand/glitter and water, passed the mixture through a piece of filter paper using a funnel. The water was able to pass through the tiny gaps in the paper but the sand/glitter particles were too big and were left on the surface of the filter paper.
