Year 5 have started the new Year with a BANG! We have immersed ourselves into the solar system and looked at what the universe is made up of. We took a virtual tour of space, visiting the different planets to understand their environment. We created planets using balloons and paper mâché, then painted each one to represent each planet in the universe. We took a closer look at the Sun to find out amazing facts. Did you know that the Sun contains 99.8 percent of the mass in our solar system? This means that the mass of the rest of the solar system is less than 1%.
