22 Nov Year 4
This week in Year 4, we investigated what happens to sound as you move further away from the source. We produced a consistent sound in a controlled environment and then measured the strength of its volume using a sound level meter at regular intervals (which was marked out using a metre ruler and masking tape in advance). We considered factors for how to make the test as fair as possible and what factors may cause the results to be inaccurate. It was a great hands-on learning experience for all, where new knowledge and skills were unlocked alongside the acquisition of new scientific vocabulary.
