In Maths, we have been learning about unit and non-unit fractions. We have been learning to use the vocabulary “numerator”, “denominator” and “whole” correctly.
Using representations, we tried to explain why when the numerator is the same, but the denominator is different – the greater the number the smaller the fraction. This led to lots of discussion about equal parts and what this means.
