04 Oct Year 3
This week, we have been focusing upon developing our sketching skills in Art. We have been looking at paintings by Henri Rousseau, who liked to paint pictures of jungles. We also discussed how to use our pencils very gently against the paper when sketching. We used lines and shapes to sketch a leaf as accurately as possible. We also had a virtual visit with the National Gallery who talked to us about Rousseau’s painting “Surprised – Tiger in a Tropical Storm”. We learned about how Rousseau had painted the picture, focusing upon the background, midground and foreground.
