Year 2 have been looking at adding two 2 digit numbers across a 10. We have been using both concrete and pictorial ways to support us when answering the questions. This has really helped us to exchange ten ones for a ten. We have pretended to be ‘bankers’ where the exchanging has taken place. We also used the sentence stem to help understand the concept of exchanging. ‘There are ______ ones, so I need to exchange because there is/are __________ ten/s and _______one/s.’
