21 Oct Reception – The Gingerbread Man
This term, Reception have been reading ‘The Gingerbread Man’. For our Design and Technology lessons, we explored how to design and make a gingerbread man using salt dough.
We drew our designs thinking about what techniques we would use to create the different body parts and how we would join them together. We then used the salt dough and different tools to help make our gingerbread men. Once they had been baked, we revisited our designs adding colour. Finally, we used these coloured designs to support us while painting our gingerbread men.
The children were very excited to take their final product home. We have set a special task for the children to complete with their gingerbread men through the half term holiday!
