18 Nov Reception – Ocean Scenes
This term, Reception have been exploring the ocean and learning about the different sea creatures that may live there. As a year group we watched a range of videos and looked at different photographs of the ocean. We commented on what colours, patterns, lines and shapes we could see. We then had the opportunity to explore a variety of art tools including water colours, pastels, paint and materials. We chose which method we liked best and began to create our ocean.
The next day we brainstormed which creatures we may find in the sea. We then looked at photographs of different sea animals commenting on their colours, patterns and lines. We drew the outline of our chosen sea animal and began to carefully add in more detail including any stripes or lines. Once we had drawn our sea creature, we then chose how we would add our colour. Finally, we cut out our sea animals and glued them onto our ocean background.
We were very proud of how great our ocean scenes turned out!
