Dear Parents/Carers,
Spring Term Newsletter – Edition 9
LBBD Music Festival comes to Parsloes!
This week we were delighted to host the LBBD Primary Music Festival. Primary and Infant schools have been performing to each other at massed events in host schools around the borough. We welcomed St. Peters RC Primary, James Cambell Primary and Richard Alibon Infants and Junior choirs. Each attending school provided two musical items. The standard was very high and the community spirit was fantastic. We welcomed Jo Milne, Head of Music and Martin Russell, Head of Culture and Wellbeing as special guests. At the end of the morning there was time for well-earned refreshments and a shared break time when pupils mixed with the other schools and shared their thoughts about the event. Please see the post below for photos.
Film Enterprise Competition
This week pupils from year 5 represented their peers at the first ever LBBD Film Enterprise competition. The event was held at Make It Barking, a creative space where they presented their short film idea to a panel of four judges. The judges work in the Film Business as presenters, producers and directors. Eight schools from the Borough were selected to present a short film idea and the competition was high. The children were remarkable and we were very proud of them. We will update you in due course regarding the outcome of the competition. Please see the post below for photos.
Reading Champion School
We welcomed schools again this week from across the country and internationally. We had one school visit from Portugal. The reviews once again were very special and our ability to reach pupils in our local community, nationally and internationally with our outstanding approach to reading is one to be proud of. The school Governors have praised this work.

Our Parents evenings are on Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th March. We look forward to seeing you then. If you have not yet booked please see your child’s class teacher.
