Dear Parents/Carers,
Spring Term 2026 Newsletter
Dear Parents and Carers,
Our Pupil Leaders support Clean up Project

We were delighted to be ask to take part in a Barking and Dagenham Project, ‘Clean up BD’. Our environmental pupil leaders, the Eco Warriors were selected to take part with the local community to help clean up our local streets. Local Councillors joined us to help clean up and make our streets cleaner. We hope you can see the difference we made to Spurling Road. Please remember to bin your litter and not drop it.
Looking forward to a cleaner borough for all.

Speech and Language
Speech and language are vital for young children because they underpin learning, relationships, and confidence. Strong communication skills help children express their needs, share ideas, and understand others. When children develop good speech and language early on, they are better able to engage in learning, build friendships, and succeed both in school and in the wider world.
Please see below for this months top tip.

If you have any questions about how to support your child or if you have any concerns about your child’s speech and language development please see your child’s class teacher.
Red Nose Day

We look forward to celebrating Red Nose Day next Friday, 20th March, when we will join schools across the country in supporting the fantastic work of Comic Relief. This year’s Red Nose Day theme is ‘Dress yourself up funny’. Your child may wear anything ‘funny’ to school that day or wear Red Nose Day merchandise, red clothing.
Our Collection buckets will be in the play ground next Friday morning and all money raised will be sent to the charity.
Thank you in advance for supporting this day and helping our school community make a difference.
Free Books for your child!
Your child came home with a book voucher last week after World Book Day. This can be redeemed for a World Book Day book at Dagenham Heathway Library on 23rd March 3:30pm-5pm. Please do take advantage of this offer. Some books will be available that require some additional payment so please encourage your child to bring along their pocket money should they prefer to buy one of those chargeable books. Happy reading!
Book swap!
Our book swap starts this Monday after school. Simply bring along a book you have read that’s in good condition and someone else might want to read and swap for a book that someone else no longer needs.
Book Fair returns to Parent’s Evening
Working in partnership with parents and carers ensures we can give your child the very best education we can offer. This term you are invited to come along to meet with your child’s class teacher to discuss their attainment and progress. Please see the Parent Mail booking link. During each evening you will be able to purchase books from our book fair.
We look forward to seeing you then!
