Dear Parents/Carers,
Spring Term 2026 Newsletter
Dear Parents and Carers,
Parent’s Evening – 25th and 26th March 2026
Parental Engagement is a priority at Parsloes Primary School. Working together in partnership ensures we can give your child the very best education we can offer. This term you are invited to come along to meet with your child’s class teacher to discuss their attainment and progress. More information regarding the booking system will be sent via Parent Mail. We look forward to seeing you then!
World Book Day – Thursday 5th March

We are delighted to announce that we will be celebrating World Book Day in school on Thursday 5th March. This is always a wonderful occasion and this year, our focus will be on promoting one of the most important gifts we can give our children – a genuine love of reading for pleasure.
To make the day even more special, we invite children to come dressed as their favourite book character. If they would prefer, they are very welcome to come to school in their favourite pyjamas – perfect for cosy reading! Children should also bring along their favourite book and be prepared to share what makes it such a good read.
We are thrilled to invite parents and carers to join us for a special shared reading session with your child.

Curriculum Themes
Our Curriculum at Parsloes is ambitious, progressive and bespoke to our school community. This term we have new curriculum themes that the children’s learning will be based upon. There have been entry points this week for all curriculum themes and we look forward to inviting some year group parents along to the exit points planned for later this term. Please keep a look out for your invite!

Curriculum Entry Points
This week’s entry points were engaging and ensured that the children start their learning with a well planned, motivating ‘hook’ lesson. This week, Year 2 watched as Neil Armstrong landed on the moon in 1969 whilst Year 3 had a totally tropical morning to launch their curriculum theme learning about the Caribbean. As part of their learning they explored and compared landscapes in the UK and tropical regions through hands on and interactive activities. Year 1 meanwhile, met a very famous explorer. They were able to meet Christopher Columbus and ask him a range of questions about his amazing journeys!

Sporting News
We are delighted to announce that our Girl’s team Goal Keeper has been selected to play for the District Football Team. This is an amazing achievement and we wish her every success in her new role. Well done to Daria – Year 6.
New – Reading Garden room
As a reading Champion school you will be aware that we prioritise reading at Parsloes Primary School. Reading for pleasure is part of our school curriculum and is a most important life long activity that we pursue as humans. You will have noticed the new garden room that we have had built in our school playground. This garden room will be transformed over the coming weeks into a relaxing reading space that the pupils will be able to access at break and lunch times. We look forward to sharing more exciting news in due course.
