Dear Parents/Carers,
Spring Term 2026 Newsletter
Dear Parents and Carers,
Reading for Pleasure

Reading for pleasure is one of the most powerful ways you can support your child’s love of reading. When children read because they enjoy it, they read more often and this makes a huge difference. Our school library is visited by each class every week. Please do take time to share and enjoy the book with your child. Joining a library is a wonderful way to nurture this love of reading. Our local library at Dagenham Heathway is a great place to start. Register your child today!
Libraries give children free access to a wide range of exciting and high – quality books. Children can explore different authors, genres and interests. Choosing their own books gives children the ownership and motivation turning reading into a habit. If you have any questions about supporting your child to read at home please do see your child’s class teacher.
Road Safety Workshops – coming soon!
Road safety is important because it helps keep children safe and confident in their community. Learning how to cross roads safely is an important lesson for our young people. Our Local Authority, Accident Prevention Officer, Penny Taberman, will be visiting the school to talk with the children about Road Safety in their assemblies.

At Parsloes we value to support of our parents and carers. You can become involved in various ways. We welcome the support of our parents and carers in various ways including, curriculum entry and exit points, school workshops, school trips, and other events throughout the year. During the first week of February we have our Careers week. If you are able to come into school and talk to the children about your own professional career please do see a member of the office staff. Thank you to those parents who are already coming into school that week. Your support is much appreciated!
