Dear Parents and Carers,
Remembrance Service 2025

This week we held our Remembrance Day Service on 11th November at 11am to commemorate the end of World war 1. This was an opportunity for pupils, staff and parents / carers to come together to reflect, show respect and learn about the sacrifices made by others in times of conflict. Our Year 6 house captains led the event and read powerful works culminating with the poem, In Flanders Fields. It was wonderful to see so many of our parents and carers at the event and it was a truly remarkable occasion when the whole school was able to come together and reflect.
Anti Bullying Week
Children in Need – Making a Difference Together

This week at Parsloes to close Anti-bullying week we celebrated with Acts of Kindness. This was a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to come together in their houses and think more about the act of being kind and how even the smallest acts of kindness can have a big impact. Activities included, kindness poems, the creation and playing of kindness bingo games, creating kindness bunting, and an anti-bullying video.
Thank you for helping us raise funds for Children in Need via our collection buckets earlier today.
Speech and Language
Communication skills are vital skills to help children learn, build confidence, and express themselves clearly. Through good speaking and listening, pupils develop vocabulary, deepen their understanding and learn to communicate with others. This month’s top tip is about the importance of engagement with young children and how to help them gain confidence as a speaker.

Time to Talk – Future Youth Zone
Next week’s guest speaker, Constantin, will be sharing information about how our young people are supported in the Local Authority at Future Youth Zone. Future zone offer children a range of clubs and activities that they can attend. Our pupils will have an assembly on Monday to meet the team so come along on Wednesday to find out more.
Refreshments will be served. Enter via the black gate in the KS2 playground.
Support for our families
We understand that these are challenging financial times for our families. Please remember that we may be able to offer support in a range of ways including access to food banks, uniform assistance, support with access to extra curricular clubs and school trips. If you are finding things difficult please come along to speak to us in confidence, we are here to help.
Uniform swap shop
Our uniform swap shop will start next Monday 17th November. Nearly new items will be available for you to purchase at a very low cost or be available to swap with an item of uniform that you no longer need. Please come along to the breakfast club entrance which is next to the dining hall. If you are unsure where the entrance is please ask your child’s class teacher.
Musician of the Week
Every week, we learn about a different musician in school, from different time periods, cultures and styles of music. This supports our knowledge our music through time and the artists, composers and musicians who created it. This term we have been listening to a wide range of genres including Pop, Rock and Classical. The children are exposed and discuss the music theme in class each week.
