Dear Parents/Carers,
Spring Term 2025 Newsletter – Edition 58
Dear Parents and Carers,
Sports Day
Thank you everyone who came along to support our pupils today in their annual sports day. It was a great event and the pupils showed their sporting skills and the team spirit was felt throughout the day. All pupils participated in their school houses, Seacole, Pankhurst, Shakespeare and Bannister House. Our school houses have been established for many years and every pupil who joins our school is allocated to one.
Thank you to everyone who participated in our sponsored race at the end of Sports Day. All money raised will support the school to raise funds to purchase school resources for the outdoor areas. If you have not yet collected the money you have raised please do send in next week and I will then be able to reveal how much we have raised. And finally a very big thank you to our House Captains who supported the pupils all day to ensure the day ran to perfection under the leadership of Mr Aseidu and Mr Hemmings!

Inspire Festival – Well done Parsloes Choir!
Last night our choir performed in the Inspire Festival. This is a fantastic Borough event that has been in place for over ten years. Parsloes have attended every year. The performance was not only fantastic but the children showed other key skills too, including teamwork, confidence, respectfulness and represented the school in a very positive way. Thank you to all the parents and carers who came along to support last night. We look forward to taking part again next year. Well done to the Parsloes Choir!
Summer Heatwave
With the warmer weather arriving we want to make sure all pupils stay safe, cool, and well during the summer heatwave. Here are some important things to remember.
- Send your child in with a refillable water bottle every day. Consider partially freezing the water so it slowly melts over the day and stays cool.
- Apply a high factor sun cream before your child comes to school each day
- Send your child in with a wide brimmed sun hat or cap to wear when they are outside
- Do not send your child wearing more layers of clothing than they need. Currently a coat and sweatshirt will not be needed throughout the day.
In school we encourage the children to take water as needed, play in the shaded areas when outside and our outdoor PE lessons are adjusted as required.
Lunch Menu – Summer Term
Some of our Year 6 pupils have been helping us to redesign our lunch menu. We are pleased to say this is now in place. Please see the link below.
