Dear Parents/Carers,
Spring Term 2025 Newsletter – Edition 46
Dear Parents and Carers,
World Book Day
As a Reading Champion school reading is a priority at Parsloes Primary and today was no exception. This week we celebrated World Book Day. This annual celebration of authors, illustrators, books and the joy of reading is one of the highlights of our year ! Pupils were immersed into a book from our reading spine. Classrooms had a makeover to support the learning, teachers swapped classrooms to read to another class of pupils and throughout the day we ‘dropped everything’ and read for pleasure. This week our assemblies have focused upon the importance of reading. Today every class shared something they had learnt in their lessons for World Book Day.
Thank you to all our parents and carers for supporting the day and sending children into school dressed as a favourite book character. All staff joined in for the occasion too. Our class posts will be in next week’s edition of the newsletter.

Year 6 pupils
This week our Year 6 pupils have had their mock SATS. Their attitude and dedication has been very positive. Well done to all. Keep up the hard work! If you would like to know how to support your child during the Easter break please do see your child’s class teacher.
Wellgate Farm coming to Parsloes!
We are delighted to be welcoming Wellgate Farm to Parsloes during the coming weeks to support the pupils with their learning in Nursery, Reception and Year One. More information will follow for these year groups.
Musician of the Week
Every week, we learn about a different musician in school, from different time periods, cultures and styles of music. This week we have been listening to the music of the 1950s Rock & Roll era and Elvis Presley. Next week we will be listening to the music of Raag Kafi (Hindustani Classical Music)
