Dear Parents/Carers,
Summer Term Newsletter – Edition 17
A busy start to the new term!
What a busy week it has been. We have had a range of trips and events that pupils have participated in.
Geography Bee
On Wednesday, a team of six Year 5 children represented our school in a Geography Bee which was held at James Cambell Primary school. The children in the team have been learning facts about our world for over two months, with a focus upon locational knowledge. They competed against 15 other local schools to see who knew the capitals of countries around the world, if they could identify the flags of different countries, whether they could name seas and oceans and if they could name UK cities. It was a close- run competition and our children showed off their impressive knowledge, beaten in their heat by the team who went on to win the overall competition. It was a great day, which not only showed off the children’s knowledge but also demonstrated a real commitment and motivation to learning key facts and remembering information, great teamwork skills and respect towards others who were competing.
Well done to our year 5 pupils, Rayyan, Isabella, Tasmia, Preet, Ahmad and Gabriella who represented Parsloes and did an amazing job!
RE Conference at Rose Lane Primary School
A selected group of pupils attended the RE conference at Rose lane Primary School. Once again they represented our school at the conference showing our school values of Respect, Positivity, Understanding and Aspiration.
