The pupil premium was introduced in April 2011, and paid by means of a specific grant based on school census figures for pupils registered as eligible for FSM in reception to Year 11. For looked after children the Pupil Premium was calculated using the Children Looked After data returns (SSDA903). A premium has also been introduced for children whose parents are currently serving in the armed forces. This service premium is designed to address the emotional and social well-being of these pupils.
At Parsloes Primary School we are committed to offering an inclusive language rich curriculum to ensure the best possible progress for all of our pupils whatever their needs and ability. The school seeks to raise the achievement, remove barriers to learning and increase physical and curricular access for all. Carefully chosen texts reflect the diverse communities we teach. All children with SEND are valued, respected and equal members of the school.
At Parsloes Primary School, safeguarding children is our number one priority. We expect all staff, governors and visitors to share this commitment. If you have any concerns relating to a child’s safety or welfare, please ensure you refer it immediately to a member of the school’s Safeguarding Team.
Parsloes Primary is a diverse and vibrant school community of children from many different ethnic backgrounds and we feel it is important to take pride in this and celebrate this diversity. Currently, we speak a total of 38 different languages! This amazing diversity means that we can often offer children arriving from overseas a friend who can communicate with them and help them to settle into school life.
