Dear Parents/Carers,
Summer Term 2026 Newsletter
Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you for your support during the Heatwave
What an unusual week we have had!
A huge thank you to our wonderful school community for your support and understanding during this week’s heatwave. We are incredibly grateful for your help in ensuring children came to school with sun hats, water bottles and sunscreen already applied.
Your support enabled us to keep pupils safe and comfortable while continuing their learning. We also appreciate your understanding as we adapted parts of the school day, including spending time in shaded areas when taking a break. Working together, we were able to ensure that everyone remained as safe and comfortable as possible.
We have partial air conditioning in our school building and we ensured that the pupils accessed these areas to ensure we could keep them as cool as possible.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support.

Year 6 – Stubbers Outdoor Adventure Centre
Our Year 6 pupils had an unforgettable day at Stubbers Adventure Centre, challenging themselves, supporting one another and creating lasting memories before moving on to secondary school. Throughout the day, they demonstrated resilience, determination and excellent teamwork while taking part in a range of exciting outdoor activities.
From kayaking across the lake and testing their aim in archery to conquering the heights of the abseiling tower, every child embraced new experiences with courage and enthusiasm. The team challenges encouraged communication, problem-solving and leadership, showing how much our pupils have grown during their time at school.
We are incredibly proud of the way Year 6 represented our school. They encouraged one another, stepped outside their comfort zones and approached every activity with positivity and respect. It was a fantastic celebration of their achievements and a wonderful way to mark the end of their primary school journey. See the post below for more photos of the day.
Thank you to our Year 6 teachers, support staff and Miss Lipman who led the successful day!

Transition Afternoon
Next Friday all pupils will be working in their new classes and will meet their new class teacher.
Transition afternoon is an important part of preparing children for the new school year. It gives pupils the opportunity to meet their new teacher, spend time with their new classmates and become familiar with their new classroom in a calm and positive way.
For many children, this experience helps to reduce worries and build confidence before September. It allows them to ask questions, understand classroom routines and begin to develop positive relationships with the adults who will support their learning. Starting the new academic year with this knowledge helps children settle quickly so that learning can begin straight away.
Please talk positively about the transition with your child, celebrate the exciting opportunities ahead and reassure children that feeling a little nervous is completely normal. Working together, we can ensure every child has a happy, confident and successful start to the new school year.
Look out for the teacher information profile that will be sent to you next week. This will inform you who your child’s new class teacher will be.
