The Universal Offer is the provision that every pupil can expect to experience in our school. It is for every child, every day, in every classroom. It represents what happens before additional interventions or specialist approaches are required and combines ambition and accessibility.
Our strong Universal Offer shifts attention towards prevention, considering what we can do differently in our every day practice to remove barriers.
The Three Pillars of Inclusion

The Universal Offer sits at the foundation of the graduated approach and is followed by three further levels of support :
- Targeted = structured support
- Targeted Plus = specialist support from experts
- Specialist = comprehensive specialist support
Adaptive Teaching
At Parsloes Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that every child can access and succeed within our ambitious curriculum. Adaptive teaching is a high-quality approach that enables all pupils, regardless of their starting point, to work towards the same learning goals.
Our teachers carefully plan lessons that anticipate the diverse needs of learners and respond flexibly during teaching. Through ongoing assessment, they adapt explanations, questioning, resources, the pace of learning, and levels of support to help every pupil make progress.
We recognise that children learn at different rates and may require different types or levels of support to achieve success. By understanding each pupil’s prior knowledge, strengths, and any potential barriers to learning, our teachers provide timely, targeted support and appropriate challenge. This responsive approach helps all children to develop confidence, deepen their understanding, and achieve their full potential.
